MEDIUM/HIGH BUDGET

The furniture designed for dining for the boutique hotel went through a considerable change considering the fact that something so heavy would make a place look cramped up. the previous design was done such it saves money and saves on usage of wood. Yet it would become heavy and immobile. Hence a similar bench with a table were designed to replace this.

Most furniture in this house is inbuilt, saving on space, since we all know that these rooms are far too small to accommodate heavy furniture. the beds are all platform sorts, the cupboards built into the present or newly made niches, and seating all made as settees along the walls of the lounge rooms

Rust dyeing :
This technique of dyeing fabrics permanently with rust was taught in a workshop by a Japanese Company Nuno...the group of students working with rust dyeing created some very interesting textures and patterns..

My moodboard attempts to tell a story with surprise cuts and colours. Belur was filled wit new experiences. Thus in some way that still evades me, id like to incorporate the element of surprise in my designs. I want to mix subtle colours and bright colours, loud even. The climate is rather inconsistant here. Therefore fabrics will have to accomodate blocking the heat inside, as well as block the cold outside and vice-versa.
I plan to explore Jute further. Using loosely woven fabrics and extremely tightly woven fabrics with heavy prints and couple them in the same environment.

The way in which the motifs were almost constructed into the stone fascinated me the most. If heat set doesn't work out on the fabric, I'll probably use self coloured prints, multiple tones or try two toned misprints.
